Have you ever needed crutches? I hadn't, until a week ago. I'm pretty sure I strained a muscle while running a half-marathon. (That sounds kind of cool, doesn't it? I'm not actually that cool; the last time I strained a muscle it was from carrying too many shopping bags at once.) In any case, I found myself in need of some crutches. I sent my husband to the store to get some. Photo: A pair of crutches leans against a wall Not that crutches are all that complex, but because I hadn't used any before, I wondered if I could figure out how to adjust them to fit me properly. I shouldn't have worried. John came home from Walmart with their generic store brand of crutches, complete with instructions. First, I needed to take out a long bolt that went through the hand grip. Then I needed to find my height range, push down two metal pieces, and slide the crutches until the little metal pieces came up in the hole near my height range. (Having two people for this...
I love old photos! Its nice to see a few that are not so posed!
ReplyDeleteI have a feeling it was supposed to be a bit more posed, but my grandma tried to make a break for it! At least that's what it looks like to me.
Deleteooooooooooo frist!
ReplyDeleteYes, you are! :-)
Deleteooooooooooo frist!
ReplyDeleteNope, you beat you. I don't know what's up with my comments lately. I've had some not publish, and others duplicate.
DeleteSadly, I never knew either one of my grandmothers.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry.
DeleteHello stopping by from the a-z challenge. I love both of my grandmothers. One has passed away when i was in highschool miss her she was one of my favorites. I am now following you. Have a good evening.
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting! I'm off to go read the post on your blog now.
Deletesunflowers! I'd love to have even the tiniest success at growing sunflowers (which would, of course mean giant flowers!)
ReplyDeleteThat photo was from our garden in Washington state, where gardening didn't really require a green thumb. I miss the ease of growing things there!
DeleteI love the picture of Reno and baby Drexel! I got sidetracked when I read this post and emailed GDB to see if there is any way we can raise a puppy for them. There are several states that have puppy raisers, including Texas. Dallas is 5 hours away. Thought it was worth asking, even though the answer is probably no!
ReplyDeleteI think that puppy raisers for GDB are limited to western states, but they might be able to put you in touch with a guide dog organization that does use puppy raisers in your area. The other option, of course, is to move west! We could really use more puppy raisers in our local group!
DeleteGodiva-Chocolates!!! That's my favorite G-word! Sadly enough I haven't had those for ages. My days currently are in the G of Getting my butt kicked with fibro... (my worst F-word I can think of by the way)
ReplyDeleteThose are wonderful Gs!
