Preparation: Puppies and Pomegranates

Today's to-do list is brought to you by the letter "P."

 

I have pomegranates that need to be picked and processed.  (If you missed my previous post about how to peel a pomegranate, you can peruse it here. 

I also need to prepare for a puppy's arrival.  It appears I will be completing Willow's puppy-raising.  Perky puppy Willow will pop in to my place presently.

Perhaps I should complete this post post-haste, and plunge into my prescribed plans!

    The letter for today is T - Its a Typical Tuesday and I am getting very tired as we move toward twilight :)

    I'll be sticking with your letter. The pigs have been put into neat little packages. I've piled them in the freezer and penned a note to prospective purchasers of pork products. :)

    F is for fabric! I've been organizing around here but can't think of any other F words right now, except fanatic which describes my relationship with fabric.

    Going to have to go with P again...piles of paperwork plague my life. The perils of persistent pulmonary problems! Piece by piece and with patience, I will pick away at the pyramids.

    I am very far behind in my reading and hoping that today I can get caught up! Amara has just discovered and fall in love with pomegranates! One of the PTA moms has a tree in her yard is keeping Amara supplied for which we are thankful! They are not cheap! Hope you and the puppy are settling in.

Ten Things of Thankful: April Showers Edition

  A red peony bud prepares to open fully  After an incredibly dry winter, we had a bit of precipitation this past week, in the form of falling snow. We didn't have much, and it didn't really stick, but we'll take water however it wants to come. Fortunately, my peonies seem unaffected by the cold snap, and are ready to put on a show here soon. 1. I'm thankful for moisture. 2. I'm thankful the flowers are still going to bloom. I don't know how the colder temperatures will affect the fruit crops. The strawberries look like they are still planning to set fruit. We'll have to see what happens with the peach, apricot, pear, and apple. (The apricot only bears heavily every other year anyway, and I think this is an "off" year--though I could be wrong.) Strawberry plants in full bloom 3. Tuesday Time to Tackle: DIY Swamp Cooler Pump Replacement

Yesterday morning, despite having the swamp cooler on all night long, we woke up to 81 degree temperatures inside the house.  John went outside to inspect and announced that the swamp cooler pump had stopped working. Fortunately, replacing the pump is a quick and simple do-it-yourself project.
