My Friend Dyanne Must Have Prompted This

So, in her Ten Things of Thankful post this weekend, my friend Dyanne mentioned that one of the children in her preschool class announced during circle time that she (the child, though I assume it applied to Dyanne, too) was wearing underwear.  Dyanne later asked her blog readers, "What are you thankful for this week? How's your hair? Wearing underwear?"

I answered that my hair was in need of a cut, and yes, I was wearing underwear.  Dyanne responded with another question:
Always good to know underwear status of my friends.
Am I the only one who ever wondered about this?!

Well, Dyanne, this is your lucky day.  I really don't remember ever before having a conversation with my friends about my underwear, but apparently you aren't the only one wondering about underwear status.  

Today this church-produced video came out, explaining about the underwear I wear:




Well, Dyanne, there you have it.  You probably didn't expect me to have a video to explain my underwear status.  Quite frankly, I didn't expect to, either, but when I saw that this video came out the same weekend you posed your questions, I just had to use it!  

Thankful thought:  Thanks for underwear, and friends with questions.

    I didn't know this. Thanks for the lesson. Good to know that I'm not the only one who wonders about the most silly details and how others feel about something...
    I do like my underwear though - always black by the way - and my hair is a mess right now, but just not in the mood to do something about it.

    Kristi -- that was so interesting. I had heard of the Morman undergarments but now I feel educated. :) I think anything that serves as a daily reminder of God and call to holiness is certainly a good thing. Thanks for sharing.

    Who knew that statement by a 3 year old would lead to such a fascinating lesson! I had read once about the undergarments, but I never really knew what was meant until now. Thank you for sharing the video! It was really interesting! You always do such a good job explaining your religion and your faith, and I love learning from you.

    And now I know you will always be able to answer "yes" to the question, "Are you wearing underwear?" :)

      I could hardly believe that video would come out the same weekend you posed the underwear statement. Your preschool student has no idea what a conversation she has started!

      Glad you enjoyed the religion lesson. And you're right, with very few exceptions--like swimming--I will always be able to answer "yes" to that question.

Ten Things of Thankful: April Showers Edition

  A red peony bud prepares to open fully  After an incredibly dry winter, we had a bit of precipitation this past week, in the form of falling snow. We didn't have much, and it didn't really stick, but we'll take water however it wants to come. Fortunately, my peonies seem unaffected by the cold snap, and are ready to put on a show here soon. 1. I'm thankful for moisture. 2. I'm thankful the flowers are still going to bloom. I don't know how the colder temperatures will affect the fruit crops. Monday Mentions: Equate Crutches

Have you ever needed crutches? I hadn't, until a week ago.  I'm pretty sure I strained a muscle while running a half-marathon.  (That sounds kind of cool, doesn't it? I'm not actually that cool; the last time I strained a muscle it was from carrying too many shopping bags at once.) In any case, I found myself in need of some crutches. I sent my husband to the store to get some.
