Tuesday Time to Tackle: Baby Blessing Dress

I love the look of heirloom blessing dresses, but know myself well enough to realize the amount of time I could spend trying to sew from a complicated pattern. 


Instead, I bought beautiful fabric, and used Simplicity pattern number 2457 to make this:


The original pattern called for rosettes and more ribbon, but I thought that might be too much on an already-busy fabric.  I still need to put buttons or hooks on the back, but other than that, I am done.

    What a beautiful dress you did so good.I got into making homemade dolls with dresses like that,they were a big hit and great Christmas presents.Have you thought of something like that?
