Tuesday Time to Tackle: Welcoming New Chicks

I received a call from the post office today.  A package was waiting for me!  I quickly drove to retrieve my awesome box of chirping cuteness.



Inside I found the most adorable creatures.




I carefully inspected the chicks, then introduced them to their new childhood home.


After drinking some water and trying out the food, they were ready to snuggle under the warmer.


Now all is quiet, at least until naptime is over.

    Oooohhh, I love new chick day! Their home looks so nice and clean...for all of an hour. I've never seen a warmer like that. Much better than the light hanging down! Although, I see it does have to be plugged in. We don't have electricity in the coop, so we wait a little longer to get ours. Of course, it's a lot warmer where you are than it is here.

    I remember getting chicks in the mail when I was a child. The post office was pretty noisy the day the chicks arrived.

    I was about to ask where you get your chicks from and then I saw the box! We've gotten all of ours out at Odyssey Ranch, so I haven't experienced the post office call :)

    What breeds did you get? We've got New Hampshires, Cuckoo Marans, white Easter Eggers and Silver Laced Wyandottes... for now ;)
