Six Sentence Story: Fault

Sometimes when I read the Six Sentence Story prompt for the week, I struggle to think of a story.  Other times, something comes immediately to mind.  This week was one of the latter.

"Say 'sorry' to your sister; you scratched her," said the aunt to her 3-year-old niece.

The girl looked confused.  "I didn't scratch her," she responded, as she held up her hands and motioned as a cat might flex its claws. She started to walk away, then turned back.  With a long pause for dramatic effect that belied her years, she gave an explanation for her sister's tears.

"I accidentally stepped on her foot."

  2. To cute, a typical sibling response, always so clever! I can remember telling my young son to stop jumping on the bed, with total sincerity he looked at me and said straight-faced, "I am not jumping, I am jogging." I tried hard not to laugh.
