We would finish the exercise and he would hit enter (or was it "run"?) and wait expectantly for the green type to appear on the screen. If we were lucky, the whole conversation would occur. Most often, there would be an error either in my dictation of the code, or in the typing of the code. We would then go painstakingly back through the lines, character by character, to find and correct the error. My dad designed and built an earth-sheltered, passive solar home decades before solar panels were commonplace. He also was on a 9-month waiting list for a Prius, when hybrids were not seen on every street. While my dad is definitely on the cutting edge of technol...
I love the road sign! It would definitely be a great way to end the alphabet game. I played the game often when I was a child.
ReplyDeleteIt certainly is an interesting sign, and brings the alphabet game to a quick end!
DeleteOh, our family would LOVE to hike there! It has all of our must-haves for any hike. Rocks, water, cool things to see. Too bad it would be a heck of a long road trip. I looked it up. 26 hours 59 minutes from our house. Maybe someday...
ReplyDeleteSo glad you and John were able to spend such a fun weekend with two of your kids.
After reading your TToT post this week, I thought that Zion would be perfect for your family. Your brother lives in Utah, right? You could make a family reunion out of it!
DeleteHe only lived there for a year or two. I went there for his wedding, but he was in Pennsylvania soon after.
DeleteThe only reunion I would have is with you! :)
I'd be happy to hike the Narrows with you!
Deletethat is simply gorgeous - our neighbors just vacationed in Wyoming with their family from France - and the pictures that she was posting on Facebook were phenomenal as yours are too - i mention this because we do have so much to be thankful for, with all these beautiful breathtaking places to visit - how lucky are we?
ReplyDeleteSpending time with your family fuels your spirit for days - :)

There really is beauty to be found in the world. It's easy to feel burdened down with societal ills, but it is refreshing to notice all the lovely places.
Deletewhat a great contrast to my part of the country... in everything, the terrain, the local flora, the scale of the place! so big and open! photos show a good time being had
ReplyDeleteThe canyons at Zion are really amazing! We did have a great time.
DeleteI'm glad to have stumbled onto your blog! I really like this series. Every other week on my blog (wondersinthewind.wordpress.com), I post a few things I am thankful for in a fun and creative way. It's good to see another blogger who is taking the time to look for the good things in life!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by! I hope that you will consider joining the Ten Things of Thankful blog hop. The link is up every weekend, and we'd love to have you join us!
DeleteI really want to know how you pronounce that street! Looks like you are having an amazing time. I would love to see that part of the country someday! Today I am most grateful for the new computer I ordered and that will hopefully be here soon!
ReplyDeleteI don't really know, but we always call it "Ziz-icks".
ReplyDeleteHope your computer arrives quickly!
