A Dose of Deedee at 11 Weeks Old

Deedee is 11 weeks old today, and would like to share her insights from the past week with you.
Deedee's insights:

 1.  My most notable accomplishment is that I now know what is meant by "Wait."  I don't even have to be told (but Kristi says it every time anyway!).  Before every meal, I try to ignore the bowl of food.  I've learned that's the fastest way to get to eat!


2.  In the evenings, sometimes Kristi and John sit down and direct their attention to the screen on the wall.  I must admit, it is quite interesting!  Sometimes, I even forget about my toys and get distracted by what's happening on the wall.

3.  Kristi still won't let me enjoy her shoelaces.  She doesn't seem to realize that I must always have something in my mouth, and her shoelaces are better than any toy! Well, that might be a stretch--she does seem to know that I always have something in my mouth.  It's some sort of superpower she has.  I mean, really, can you tell that I had a rock in my mouth in this photo?  

Kristi knew, and she made me spit it out. 

 She seems to think I will outgrow this phase.  Something about teething and puppy teeth falling out. I'm not sure I like the sound of that!

 Kristi says that I get to go to the vet for a shot next week.  I'm not exactly sure what that means, but it sounds exciting!

    Love the Deedee updates! What huge paws she has. I'll bet she'll be a big lady when she's all grown up. I love her sweet face and feeling a bit jealous.... would love to have a sweet doggie like her. Give her a smootch for me, will you?!

      I think she will be big. The puppy truck always brings me big dogs. :-) (Willow was small, but she came to be as an older puppy--I didn't pick her up off the puppy truck.)

    The Deedee insights are interesting. I've never raised a puppy, but it sounds like things are going really well.

      Puppies grow up so quickly, that even the annoyances (like chewing on everything) end soon. Deedee is a good puppy, and I think will make a great guide dog.

    I can't get enough Deedee face! Our foster pups liked flip flops. No matter how sure you were they were out of her reach, here she'd come, dragging a flip flop. Both of them liked to chew on rocks and sticks. And table legs. And the brick around the fireplace. And, and, and... :)

Ten Things of Thankful: Oregon Edition, Part 3

  A western bluebird, sitting at the base of a house window, looks inside Thanks (1) to those who have sent well-wishes for my mom's recovery. Her wrist is healing up nicely. I met a friend from high school for lunch this past week. It was so nice to have a chance to visit with her for a couple of hours. She is one of those friends who it doesn't matter how much time has passed, we can pick right back up into meaningful conversations. Ten Things of Thankful: I Should Blog More Often

  Tall red poppies bloom against the brick remains of an old homestead A couple of weeks ago, John and I hiked in Alpine, Utah, to see the poppy gardens near the old Lambert homestead. We knew if we waited, we would miss the peak of the flowers. One minute, flowers are blooming, and the next minute, that particular floral show is over until next year.  The Ten Things of Thankful blog hop runs every week, but sometimes I miss the boat and don't get a post composed.
