stock photo of old computer monitor When I was 10 or 11, I remember sitting next to my dad in our living room and reading computer code to him as he entered it into an Apple computer. We would finish the exercise and he would hit enter (or was it "run"?) and wait expectantly for the green type to appear on the screen. If we were lucky, the whole conversation would occur. Most often, there would be an error either in my dictation of the code, or in the typing of the code. We would then go painstakingly back through the lines, character by character, to find and correct the error. After what seemed like hours (and might have been), we would succeed and the computer would finally run the entire program. It was magical! My dad designed and built an earth-sheltered, passive solar home decades before solar panels were commonplace. He also was on a 9-month waiting list for a Prius, when hybrids were not seen on every street. While my dad is definitely on the cutting edge of technol...
When you find a solution, please post it because I am overwhelmed, too.
ReplyDeleteI have a one touch rule....touch it once then pay, file or toss. Works for me! LOL, good luck...looks like a big pile. xoxo
ReplyDeleteNo problems on that part of my life... As a very organized person, I make it a habit to file everthing immediatly. I can's stand clutter.
ReplyDeleteI too am very good about paying on time. I open mail and either toss or put in the to do pile. It's after the task is done that I fall down, I am VERY bad about that last step. Throw away is easy, filing just piles up. Big surprise but in my professional life my desk was cleared each day before going home with nary a stray piece of paper!
ReplyDeleteWe do get the paper bills. I sort them by type and put them in a basket. Forever. I need to stop that. LOL
ReplyDeleteI'm lucky that The Man took over the bill paying/filing chore a few years ago. He would rather do that than clean a toilet...lol! I had a much more elaborate filing system than he does because I couldn't stand seeing the stack of papers that needed filing -- that doesn't bother him too much, and it's located in his ManCave, so I don't let it bother me either! I do follow the blog of a self-proclaimed "love-to-be-organized" lady, Toni at a Bowl Full of Lemons -- http://abowlfulloflemons.blogspot.com/2012/09/home-organization-101-week-4-office.html. She has a 14 week challenge going on right now for organizing all the trouble spots in our homes, and this week is "The Office." She has quite a nice filing system and explains it very well, so you might want to check it out.
