Six Sentence Story: Season

This week's Six Sentence Story prompt caught me in a reflective state of mind.  With a birthday that ends in a "0" sneaking up on me in a few days, I guess that is to be expected.  And so, here are 5 sentences reflecting the past seasons, and one for all the future seasons:
The curly-haired, blue-jacketed girl follows the majestic collie down the lane.
Photo:  2-year-old me, with the neighbor's collie 

A different lane leads to a new home.
Photo:  The house my dad built
Before you know it, the girl marries and has children of her own.
Photo:  John and I outside the Seattle temple on our wedding day
Addresses change, children grow, memories develop, and love works.
Photo:  A family photo where everyone has some sort of smile!
The children leave the nest, and the curly-haired girl becomes a grandma.
Photo:  The family, as it was in 2013. (Grandson has since been born.)
The rest of the story remains to be seen.

    like the story with photos (could almost picture the 'old movie thing with the slowly turning pages of the album)

      I always loved it when movies incorporated the book pages, and I've always loved dogs, too!

    So beautiful to share the seasons of your life. Those birthdays with the 0's at the end have a way of sending our thoughts back over the preceding ones. Your photos fill me with love.

      I distinctly remember turning 10, and how I felt so old, because I could count my life in decades. (Well, in one decade.)

Ten Things of Thankful: Oregon Edition, Part 3

  A western bluebird, sitting at the base of a house window, looks inside Thanks (1) to those who have sent well-wishes for my mom's recovery. Her wrist is healing up nicely. I met a friend from high school for lunch this past week. It was so nice to have a chance to visit with her for a couple of hours. She is one of those friends who it doesn't matter how much time has passed, we can pick right back up into meaningful conversations. Monday Mentions: Equate Crutches

Have you ever needed crutches? I hadn't, until a week ago.  I'm pretty sure I strained a muscle while running a half-marathon.  (That sounds kind of cool, doesn't it? I'm not actually that cool; the last time I strained a muscle it was from carrying too many shopping bags at once.) In any case, I found myself in need of some crutches. I sent my husband to the store to get some. Photo: A pair of crutches leans against a wall  Not that crutches are all that complex, but because I hadn't used any before, I wondered if I could figure out how to adjust them to fit me properly.
