Friday Family History: Alma Mater Edition

It's homecoming weekend at Brigham Young University, and though I'm not in Utah, I thought I'd share photos from John's graduation day and my graduation day.  First, though, a rousing "Rise and Shout":

John graduated exactly one week before we got married.  Needless to say, it was a busy week!

We moved away from Utah, but with a combination of independent study classes, and transferring some classes I took at Long Beach State, I was able to graduate from BYU two years after John.  I finished my classes a month and a half before our oldest child was born, and graduated when he was 2 months old.

Though I'm not at homecoming, the baby in the photo is currently attending BYU.

Are you attending homecoming this year?

It's a fun challenge for writers, and a delight for readers. Go over to her blog to read what others have written, and feel free to post your own story, too! This week's prompt: twist. ********************************* The kids who moved in next door were big kids--much older than her 3-year-old self--but they might be fun to play with, and as they were coming towards her, the idea of them being new friends seemed at least possible. She was rather shy, but she understood the basics of making friends, so when those neighbors crowded all around her and asked her what her name was, she didn't hesitate to answer.  She thought she had spoken loudly enough, but apparently her shyness got the best of her, because they didn't seem to have heard her.  "Twisty?" they asked, and recognizing she needed to be even louder, she ...

Ten Things of Thankful: Lovely Autumn

I've mentioned before, but it bears repeating, that I love fall.  This week I noticed the following:

Ten Things of Thankful: Valentine's Day is in Spring Edition
