Friday Family History: Childhood Artwork

When we visited my in-laws this summer, John's mom gave us a folder containing some of John's old school papers.  I don't know  how old John was when he drew this, nor do I know exactly what the assignment was.  I only know that I love this picture.

Thursday Thoughts: Why We Can Disagree, and I Won't Hate You

I've thought for a long time about this post, and I sincerely hope it is received in the spirit in which it is intended.  Nothing in particular prompted it, but everything in general.    I have friends and family members of various political and religious persuasions.  As one would imagine, we don't always see eye-to-eye.  However, I am fortunate that we remain on good terms, despite our differences.  How is this possible?

Tuesday Time to Tackle: Extremely SLOW, Clicking Keyboard

Somehow, I seem to always end up having strange computer problems, the kind for which googling the answer is difficult.  For example, I learned the hard way that if you hold down the control key and press the minus sign, you can inadvertently make your screen so tiny that you cannot see the words.  Of course, when I did that, I didn't actually recognize how I had done it;  I just knew that my screen was suddenly illegible.  (To fix that problem, simply press the control key and the plus sign.)

Monday Morning in the Kitchen: Cookie Butter!

Have you tried cookie butter?  Neither had I.  In fact, I didn't even know what it was until I heard someone mention how delicious it is.  In case you are also unfamiliar, let me explain.  Cookie butter is like peanut butter, only gingerbread cookie flavored.  Yum, right?

Ten Things of Thankful: 10K Edition, Plus More

This has been a highly anticipated weekend! our best, though blurry, photo of pre-race excitement

Friday Family History: Running and Kicking

Tomorrow I'll be running in my first 10 K race, so I'm thinking back today on some fun 5 K memories . (That's not an oxymoron--really!)

Thursday Thoughts: A Post a Day Keeps the Grouchies Away

Since returning from vacation last week, I have struggled with the return to "normal" life.  I forgot about a meeting I had, and I just haven't gotten into the autumn routine yet.  (I know it is still technically summer, but school has started for youngest daughter.)
