I've spent the past week at BYU Education Week, which is an event I love attending whenever it works in my schedule. John and I have some upcoming travel plans, so going to Education Week took away from travel prep time, but it was worth it. However, it is crunch time now, so I'm going to jump right into my list:
1. I'm thankful for presenters. Hundreds of qualified people take time out of their busy schedules to teach at BYU Education Week.
2. I'm thankful for walking. By parking in the stadium lot (which was convenient driving-wise), I could definitely get in some built-in activity every day.
3. I'm thankful for connection. I was able to chat with other attendees. I also had opportunities to socialize with friends and family members outside of Ed Week this week.
4. I'm thankful for opportunities to serve, inside and out of Ed Week. Isn't it wonderful that doing small things can make a difference (and make you feel good, too!)?
5. I'm thankful for firefighters. A wild fire has been burning all week on a mountain just south of campus, but the firefighters have been hard at work protecting people and property.

6. I'm thankful for prayer. (Try it; it works!)
7. I'm thankful for family.
8. I'm thankful for ebooks. Though I love physical books, loading up a e-reader before traveling is just more practical.
9. I'm thankful for multigenerational living. One advantage is that we can take off on new travel adventures and know that our home and Drexel, our dog, will be well taken care of.
10. I'm thankful for John. He carried the load of household chores this week as I was gone most of the day.
This blog will be quiet for a while as we are away, but I look forward to sharing our adventures with you when I return in the fall. Keep looking for things to be thankful for, and keep checking out the Ten Things of Thankful blog hop!
