Wednesday Works: DIY Fall Wreath

Photo: A fall wreath hangs on the front door

Since moving into our house in July, our front door has been naked. I couldn't stand that any longer, so ventured into the abyss of the basement to find the box labeled "wreaths." Alas, though I found that box, I didn't find a fall wreath. I probably should have tackled unpacking and organizing all of the boxes in the basement, but what fun is that? I decided instead to pick up some supplies and make a different autumn wreath. I also thought, "Maybe I should try my hand at making a YouTube video."

Basically, I spent 10 minutes explaining my complicated technique of how to shove stuff into a grapevine wreath. You don't have to be crafty in order to make a wreath. 😊

Do you like to decorate for fall?

  1. Fall is my favorite. No wreaths here right now, though, because we are buried in these spotted lanternfly things. Eew. I just don't want them hanging out in my wreaths. Your project is lovely!

    1. I hadn't heard of spotted lanternflies, so I had to google it. They are colorful, but I agree I wouldn't want them hanging out in my wreath, either!

  2. Yes, I decorate a bit for the various seasons: flags, a door wreath, and wooden quilt blocks.

Your post and video reminded me that I have a naked wreath that needs some flowers and a ribbon. Thanks for the inspiration.

    1. The amount of decorating I do has decreased now that the kids are grown, but I do enjoy a change of decor each season.
