Ten Things of Thankful: Easter Edition

Today is Good Friday.  Sunday is Easter.  I attended a funeral this morning.  This talk, " Sunday Will Come ," by Joseph B. Wirthlin, was referenced at the service.  What fitting and appropriate words for the occasion!   Each of us will have our own Fridays—those days when the universe itself seems shattered and the shards of our world lie littered about us in pieces. We all will experience those broken times when it seems we can never be put together again. We will all have our Fridays. But I testify to you in the name of the One who conquered death—Sunday will come. In the darkness of our sorrow, Sunday will come. No matter our desperation, no matter our grief, Sunday will come. In this life or the next, Sunday will come.

1000th Post: He Knows My Name--and Yours, Too

This is the 1000th time I've hit "publish." For a naturally shy person, apparently I have a lot to say.  I've been trying to think of what I should say on this anniversary post. Even though 1000 is just one more than 999 and one less than 1001--in other words, just another number--I still asked myself, What could I say that would be meaningful and significant?  When I read the April visiting teaching message , I had my answer.

Shore Excursion in Cozumel: The Ruins of Coba

Here it is, almost a whole month after going on the cruise, and I'm still writing posts about it!  I guess timeliness isn't really a factor, though, when writing about ancient ruins.

A to Z Theme Reveal!

Last year, I participated in the A to Z Challenge for the first time.  I was pleasantly surprised at how easily it fit into my schedule.  (I think that planning ahead was definitely key!)  I wondered, though, if I would be able to participate this year.  I didn't have a theme idea, I was struggling to post much of anything on my blog, and I knew April was going to be busy.

Ten Things of Thankful: Happy Spring Edition

I'm calling this the Happy Spring Edition, because it is spring, but my thankfuls this week seem a bit heavy for this time of year.

Six Sentence Story: Contract

I'm pausing momentarily from the vacation report to join in the Six Sentence Story hop.  This week's prompt:  Contract.

Swimming with the Sting Rays in Grand Cayman

After the stop in Key West, Florida, where we searched out the best key lime pie , our cruise ship next stopped in the Cayman Islands. John and I knew that we wanted to spend some time in the clear, blue Caribbean water, so I started looking at different excursions that would let us get wet.
