Thursday Thoughts: You Learn Something New Everyday

Driving through town this week, I noticed something I had never seen before.  Because I was driving, I couldn't get a photo, but you can use your imagination.

I saw someone on a motorcycle, with a camera mounted to the top of his helmet!  My first thought was, "What in the world could he be taking photos of here?" My second thought was, "What a great blogging resource!"  If only I had a camera mounted to the top of my head, I could take photos while driving.  I would never have to fumble for the camera again.  I would be prepared.  My posts would be full of interesting illustrations.

Alas, I do not have a helmet camera.  And I'm OK with that.  I'm not really a hat person anyway.

What unusual thing have you seen lately?   Do you think camera helmets will become the next great blogging tool?  :-)

  1. Next tool?! Oh sugar, it's been done for ages!! Friends of us use camara's mounted on their dash making film and picutes while off roading. Henk has me as his camara-mount, so we never do this, but if I would travel alone, I surely would too!

  2. I've seen the helmet cameras, but I think they shot only video.

  3. Oh, I wonder if he was making a cool movie of his journey! I haven't seen anything too interesting here lately but I remember seeing a guy in San Francisco walk around with an exotic parrot on his shoulder. Just sitting there! No flying away in the big city.

  5. I saw a man the other day who was doing what looked like Tai Chi while waiting for the light to change. It was a busy intersection, so maybe he was trying to stay calm a midst rushing traffic.

  6. I have a wonderful friend who used to commute quite a distance so learned to ride a motorcycle to shorten the ride. You know how southern California freeways are. She took training because she knew how dangerous it could be and she wore a helmet cam. She has video of herself flying over the hood of a couple of cars on the 405 freeway when she was rear ended!

My sister rides and has a helmet cam but her's takes still and she uses it to capture photos on their trips.
